Right on time for the beginning of spring and the timber construction season, the germany-based specialist in the field of stainless steel screws is expanding its product assortment: the new decking screw is classified as a chipboard screw, but differs from these in some crucial details; application cases that used to be difficult can now be mastered easily. The 4-edged thread geometry with staggered flank alignment reduces the tightening torque by up to 40% compared with conventional wood screws and reduces screwing-in times. At the same time, the new decking screw can be applied with absolute precision with its CUT point with chamfer without any time-consuming pilot drilling and can be screwed in very quickly and accurately; the danger of cracks and fissures appearing is also reduced. The friction part at the end of the thread also reduces the tightening torque still further, which means that your work doesn't have to be tiring. Last but not least, the six cutting ribs under the head ensure the easy and full countersinking of the screw, even in harder wood, and also ensure that the small screw head sits in a clean and level position, even without countersinking; this lends it a visually attractive appearance. The considerably greater strength of the decking screw compared with conventional screws made from A2/A4 high-grade steel is achieved by using a martensitic chrome steel; the material 1.4006 also stands out by virtue of its surface quality. In conjunction with the proven Torx® drive, size T25, the optimum power transmission is guaranteed from the placement of the screw to the countersinking of the head. The sum total of all these product advantages becomes particularly clear when we look at all the areas where the new decking screw can be applied – for it is ideally suited to ...
