Lederer invests in a new packaging service hall

With its new packaging service hall, Lederer is enhancing efficiency, speed, and customer focus – economically and sustainably.

With a newly equipped hall dedicated to packaging operations, Lederer is creating even leaner processes, higher processing speed and greater customer flexibility. This investment not only enhances customer service but also reduces costs and transport distances – a clear advantage for efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Lederer – a responsible, family‑owned company and one of the leading suppliers of high‑quality fasteners and efficient C‑parts management – is taking another major step in optimizing its internal logistics and service processes. By mid‑2026, the conversion of an existing hall into a modern service area for packaging operations will be completed.

At the heart of the investment at the Ennepetal site is a fully automated packaging machine for the bag packaging of small parts. In total, almost €500,000 is being invested in the refurbishment, technology, and equipment of the existing building.

Greater speed, flexibility and customized customer service

With the new service unit, packaging and labeling tasks can be carried out even faster and more individually. The company gains full control over every step – from goods receipt to repacking and demand‑based labeling.

Another advantage: external transport to service providers is no longer required. This saves time and reduces costs, while simultaneously lowering resource consumption – a sustainable contribution to environmental and climate protection.

More space and improved workflows

The new packaging service hall at the Ennepetal headquarters increases storage capacity by up to 330 additional pallet spaces for repackaged goods. Materials are stored directly on site and, for the first time, can also be unloaded directly from containers and processed immediately. This significantly increases the efficiency of internal logistics.

Strategically sound and economically sustainable

The expansion of the in‑house packaging service is another key component of the company’s long‑term strategy:

• Enhanced customer service through greater individualization
• Reduced costs and shorter transport times previously required
for external service providers
• Increased sustainability
• Optimized and integrated processes “from a single source”

With commissioning scheduled for summer 2026, Lederer is not only increasing its operational performance, but also strengthening its long‑term competitiveness in the market.
